Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
