Jurgen Klopp says rejoining to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club remains something that could happen. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included Champions League success and ending the club's long wait for three decades, currently occupies positions overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor to Germany's league body.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the league title in the previous campaign, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the idea that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he told Steven Bartlett: “I stated I will never coach another team within the country. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, that means the choice could be mine in a few years, who knows. Must I choose now? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about the specific conditions would need to occur to tempt his return to management, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “No longing for management; I don’t miss standing in the rain through long matches; No need for interviews repeatedly each week or doing numerous chats each week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, however, dining out with the players talking freely, is pleasant. We won a lot of games thus frequently positive atmosphere around the place. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, praising him for the tweaks that took the title last campaign. The team has suffered a string of losses in every contest after a summer spending spree, though he denied the suggestion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. The French striker, incredible player. This is a well-built well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

He shared movingly about the death of Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, along with the consequences on Liverpool. Jota lost his life in a road accident together with his sibling recently.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the team environment missing him. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. A devastating blow for all the boys as well. No one within the club would cite it to justify results yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Handling this individually is not easy. Unbearable.”
