The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
