The Renowned Musician Encourages Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign aims to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“It has a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All took part in the September show, which reportedly raised a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of producers and composers. The song showcases a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The team running the campaign have emphasized that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These donations will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We aim for as much as possible. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the region was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of buildings said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a few million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all raising awareness for this issue and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The track is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
